During the last round of collective bargaining between the City of Saskatoon and CUPE 59, the parties agreed to run a medical leave pilot from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2023. The pilot permits the use of sick leave credits to attend medical appointments that cannot be scheduled outside of regular working hours based on the rules set out in the pilot.
The Collective Bargaining Agreement is set to expire on June 30, 2023 so the medical leave balance has been adjusted for 2023 to 5.0 hours for Full-Time and 2.5 hours for Part-Time/Seasonal workers. CUPE 59 employees will see this adjustment on their timesheets for January 16, 2023.
